The statre lost 128,300 non-farm jobs sincew last year, according to figures reported Thursdahy by the Wisconsin Department ofWorkforce Development. "Workerxs and families across Wisconsin continue to feel the impactf of the global recessionm and DWD is working hard to meet the employmen needs of job seekers and employers in thesechallenging times,” Workforce Development Secretaryh Roberta Gassman said. Non-farm employment totaled 2,735,000 in which represented a gainof 11,509 jobs from March, when unemployment was at 9.
4 The year-over-year decline in job numbere hit the manufacturing sector hard. Manufacturing in the states lost 52,700 jobs since April 2008. Overall gooda producers, including manufacturing, dropped 69,100 jobs sinced last year, while the service sectorr lost 59,200 jobs, led by a loss of 28,500 jobs in professional and business services.
